RIP Marcell

So. just a small comic about Marcell.

page three.

I applied for a PGCE - basically a teacher training year, and I found out today that my application wasn't accepted. I don't really take rejection well. I've really struggled to get this page finished today. but here it is all the same.

Page two.

As you can tell I've been menatally productive of the last couple of days... And it's not stopping yet I hope! Here's page two, I'm not dropping the text on until I'm pretty much finished, I'll be interested to see if you can follow the story purely with just my pictures... I cannot describe how much I'm enjoying this. loves xxx

pretty rose.

I didn't do the colouring... this is just how it was altered for the purpose of the poster/programs!

April Fools Day

here is my other half's blog - I'm just showing you because i designed him a header today... tehehe! x x x

Busy day?

So today, I decided to get all my mini comissions done. here are some lil first attempts.

I was asked to do some drawings for my old youth theatre company for the program - They're doing Beauty and the Beast - this was just a rose study to get the petals right.

Wilson. For a website concept I think... :) was still fun.

Also going to do somthing later for my other half's blog. but first. Spaghetti hoops! I'm feeling much better today, I did get to sleep, but I slept right through my alarm and there's no real point in going in now.

See ya all later! xx

An hour later.

SO yeah. my housemate Claire left uni officially today (personal reasons) so now I'm the only girl in a house of three other guys. (who are lovely don't get me wrong) it's just that I've been kept awake until now by them drinking and shouting etc. It's fine while I need to stay awake to get things done. But now I'm tired. And I'm pretty sure that loud crashing noise was someone passing out in the bathroom and taking the shower curtain with them...

I'm just tired. Feeling annoyed at how inconsiderate people are being. I'm trying to do the hard-working-uni-thing... and they're making it difficult. grr.

So you got a drawing (aren't you lucky!) REALLY fast lil scribble. but it helps. hope I can get to sleep soon. x

Page one.

So after a pretty Epic couple of days. I got the first page drawn. It's pretty detailed... I've decided to drop the text on digitally when I get round to it, but the first few pages aren't really dialogue driven so I think I can get away with just visuals for now *smiles* right. I'm gonna go get me some sleep. The plan is to catch up this week. Gonna be an efficient machine. Tomorrow is all the tiny comissions I've got and to do the second page of this. Then to continue with my kids books (plus two other projects) ah well. I'm enjoying it at least!

brush pen scribble

So, I thought i'd practice a means of drawing much faster than what I'm use to... For hourly comic day and all... gonna attempt to do it properly this year! (woo!) so I got my double ended brush pen out. *happy days*

I need some sleep.

The hat.

sooooo.... I thought I'd pop on and say I'm feeling much better now, retail therapy and lots of coffee, and the decision to create the book illustrations for the Oz stories into a graphic novel format! SO. You should be able to see some actual comics very soon, I'm gonna get done what needs doing for tomorrow, then I'm gonna start it (again) properly. So maybe by tonight there'll be something I can post? hopefully... oh yes the hat, well... the hat was forgotten by my boyfriend, and it's cold in our house, and I love it quite a bit. Alright? *smiles* xxx

Yesterday.

I'm feeling a whole lot better today. I don't really know what put me in that place - insecurities I guess... but drawing helps. It always helps. x

Oz Project

meet The Scarecrow and Jack Pumpkin head, if you didn't know - they're characters from the series of 'Oz' books and like a fool I said I wanted to draw all of them for my final project. It's kinda awesome, but in three days I've changed the way I wanted to draw it all... gonna have to explain to my tutors, but I'm sure it'll be fine. It's half 1 in the morning, and I've had coffee, and I'm watching supernatural series 4. So addicted. And I liked drawing these guys, pretty much cause they don't need working proportions! anyway. happy friday! x

Hourly Comic Day.

So yeah. This is a poster for me to advertise the WONDER of Hourly comic day, I'm sure you already know, but most people on my course haven't got a clue, and I thought it'd be a wonderful idea to compile a load of design students days into something worth publishing! This is more of an example of what I've been up to over a period of days... I still like it.

lol. just the idea.

Someone told me I'm posh. But I don't know if one can be posh without money (lowly student you see) so this term came to mind...

and it just made me giggle! x

Finally. Lets try and keep it up.

I had a nice day today, and for one of the first times, I like the fact that I'm starting to get less static in my drawings... Gone back to how I was drawing in the first place... Silly me... x

Tat. Oo.

So err. yeah. Essay took MORE of my time again today... I barely had any of my own to throw this tattoo design together - a girl I went to highschool with asked me to giver her an idea of a unique tat. She wanted her initials incorperated, and the images of the tattoo's she liked were mostly of butterflies... was nice and easy really... all swirly! x

gosh. I'm sorry.

Hey to all of the people who check me out... apologies for not posting anything for weeks - what with going home for Xmas and there being a sever lack of internet and people wanting to see me... (I felt vay popular)

PLUS. I had to write a 4000 word essay for the 11th of January. Which isn't too bad, but because our referencing standards are so high, it took me six days (no joke and no stopping) to get it done. so INCLUDING - double spacing, pictures (referenced) A bibliography, appendix, plus the essay - it's turned into a 32 page reading fest about why self-published autobiographicals are one of the purest forms of self expression (boo yeah) Part of my research was going to London's MCM EXPO and talking to these amazing comic artists (they were all lovely):

(Lizz Lunney) www.lizzlizz.blogspot.com

(Adam Cadwell) www.theeveryday.com

and not forgetting

(Marc Ellerby) www.ellerbisms.com

- finding his first volume of Ellerbisms and Speed Trail was my first look into autobiographical comics in 2008, and i've become slowly more obsessed ever since! So as of today. I'll try to post EVERYDAY. Hope you're all well, I'm off to get my essay proof read.
